In everyday life, we are constantly exposed to a large amount of external information—from social media, books, news, and gossip—in the forms of text, sound, and visual stimuli that continuously engage our senses. In social psychology, the “Illusion of Truth” effect describes how people tend to believe information that is repeatedly presented, regardless of its accuracy. Without critical evaluation, this can create cognitive biases, producing a gap between “what we think we know” and “what we actually know.” Based on this concept, the exhibition “The Illusion of Truth” explores social media, societal violence, and creative spaces, serving as an interactive cognitive experiment among the curator, artists, and audience.
